Fall Manicure OPI Lincoln Park After Dark & Which is Witch? *Fall Series*

I really like dark nail polish and especially now during Fall/Winter, 

I opted for OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. I wanted some glitter as well and went for OPI Which is Witch on my ring fingers :)
Two coats and One coat with Fast Drying Top Coat.

Lincoln Park After Dark is described as "Where Midnight Meets Purple".
It is so close to black, but it's not black... In the sunlight you can clearly see it has some purple to it and if you're wearing only one coat it will be even clearer:)
Such a perfect color for me and Which is Witch makes it a little glam and fun too :)
I used my new Inglot Fast Drying Top Coat and I am very pleased!
First and foremost because it actually dried SO FAST! I had never imagined, and not a scratch..
It's also very glossy - and that I love ;-)

To me there's nothing quite like well manicured, long nails.

I haven't had gel/acrylic nails done since last Christmas (!!) so when I finally decided to treat myself with a new pair I was pretty excited :)

I used to always have long gel/acrylic nails, but after I started working as a hairdresser it was so hard to keep them nice looking at all times - most parts of the day I keep my hands in either itchy gloves or in running water. That's not the perfect ingredient for nice nails ;) Not to mention all the stains from hair dye! Yes, that happens. Even with the gloves on.
Not only this but my nails grow pretty fast so I am in need for refill after only a week and a half really. I can't stand the gap. Still I never manage to get that done though.
So I just ended up having a (way too long) break from acrylic/gel nails!

..Until last month. As I am not working at the moment I wanted to get some new nails since I could actually manage to maintain them. And I have! I have had refill done once, and last week I also treated myself with a manicure.

I should probably not have done that though - because now I am addicted!
As of today it has lasted for one and a half week and it is almost just as nice as when I left the salon! If it hadn't been for my screw up (pouring aceton on my hands) today, I wouldn't have to remove it and reapply it myself.

I genuinely suck at painting my own nails, I am just not careful enough and I certainly do not have patience enough!
I can tell you already it's not happening - I'm just finished with the first layer and here I am already typing on my keyboard writing this post - Hello scratches *SIGH*
(In the end I actually managed to finish and with a lot better result than I was hoping for;))

The picture above is of my nails (manicure done at the salon) after a week, so you can clearly see some scratches and it's not as glossy anymore. But it's still pretty good to be a week old! I wish I managed to do such a nice manicure, I always mess up around the edges and even though I clean up with q-tips after I still can't get it perfect, haha:) Well, I guess that nail salon have a new returning customer! ;)
I am actually going back next Tuesday, not sure whether to do refill or new ones yet, have to see how long they've grown..

I am definitely going to start getting better at treating my nails and maintaining them with nice polishes - it's so fun! I used to do gel nails myself, and I loved it. Maybe I'll start doing that again too...

The Body Shop Colourglide Shine Lip Colour "Iced Violet" Review & Swatches *Fall Series*

My last lipstick posts have been rather on the dark side, so what if you don't feel completely comfortable wearing a dark lip? Still you want something that's not screaming Summer!

Fear not, I have a wonderful piece of lipstick here to share with you! And it is one that has become an instant favorite of mine for those days I want something just a little bit more neutral than for example Cyber ;)

This is The Body Shop Colourglide Shine Lipstick in the color 05 Iced Violet.
For some reason when I hear "Iced" I think of frosted finish, I'm not a huge frosted finish fan - but I can assure you there's nothing frosted with this lippie! It's so smooth and it applies like a dream, it doesn't dry out to quickly and even though my lips are crazy dry these days it didn't feel any discomfort regarding this during the time I wore it.

"Iced Violet" is a beautiful color and I feel it's really suitable for Fall because it doesn't have that bright look to it.. It's a nice addition for those who feel more comfortable with a nude lip than with a darker lip :) It's definitely a build able color so you can wear it like a really nice sheer tint or the way I do it :)

MOTD - Urban Decay & Mac makeup look with Cyber lips :)

EYES:

1. I primed my lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion.
2. Urban Decay "SIN" (Ammo Palette) whole lid.
3. Urban Decay "MILDEW" (Ammo Palette) outer half of lid.
4. Blend edges.
5. MAC "GREENSMOKE" over "MILDEW" outer half of lid.
6. Blend edges.
7. MAC "SATIN TAUPE" in the crease.
8. Blend.
9. Highlighted Brow bone with highlighter from Milani Brow Fix palette.
10. Bourjois Black Liquid Eyeliner
11. Urban Decay "MILDEW" (Ammo Palette) under lower lash line
12. IsaDora Twist-Up Metallic Eye Pen #44 Golden Khaki on lower water line

BROWS:

1. Filled in with Milani Brow Fix powder No. 3.
2. Blend with Anastasia spoolie.
3. Line and fill with Anastasia Brow Wiz in "Caramel".
4. Blend.
5. Line with Anastasia Brow Wiz in "Brunette".
6. Soften edges with brow brush and Milani Brow Fix powder No. 2.

LIPS:

1. Line with Mac Nightmoth.
2. Blend out edges a little.
3. Apply Mac Cyber.

While I was waiting for the lash glue to dry my little baby came to visit! Of course that resulted in a forced photo-shoot ;)

It's been another weekend of nothingness! It's not that I crave something to do, like work or anything, but I wouldn't mind a bit of a more exciting life! Of course it's what I make of it myself and I guess I just have to accept the fact that it's a time now that there's nothing too exciting going on... 

I got up rather early for a Sunday today and I was very determined to play around with some lipsticks and eyeshadows. I wanted to start early as I find it hard to do anything later in the day..! However, you know that morning coffee, it can take some time. I'm not really a morning person so I need some time to evolve from that sleepy zombie and into a normal human being. I had some lovely chit chats with a few #bbloggers while I enjoyed my coffee though, that helped ;)

I did a couple of make up looks, both with my new Mac Quad Palette and Urban Decay Ammo Palette- mainly focusing on Cranberry and Greensmoke/Satin Taupe.
I really need to just practice, practice and practice as my impaired vision makes it quite difficult to do detailed work! (Because naturally I can't wear my glasses when doing my own makeup).
I struggle the most with my left eye. When I'm going to put eye liner or eyelashes on my right eye - I would have to close it, of course. But since I have much more impaired vision on my left eye I can seriously not see a damn thing - I literally put liner on like a blind person... Can you imagine anything more annoying than that?
Gosh, I am just so grateful that I am not actually blind, that would be the end of me. Period.

So I guess I just have to get really great skills in applying makeup with a blurry vision ;)

I figured another technique today that made it a little easier for me to apply liner:)
I hope I can go back to contacts again soon, but it really doesn't help on detail work like applying makeup to my own face anyway, my eyes just can't seem to focus.

Sometimes it gives me the motivation to practice and just do it, but other times it just brings me down and I am only focusing on the things I no longer can do as easy as before. 

OK, that was todays little complaining! ;-)

How to make your own Pumpkin Spice Latté! *Fall Series*

I felt it was time to share the recipe on my favorite Fall drink!
As some of you already know I haven't been able to get my hands on any Pumpkin Spice Syrups yet, so I will be using Vanilla Syrup. I still have the pumpkin spice and pumpkin spice coffee creamer so there will be plenty pumpkin spice flavor to it!

There's many years since I had PSL on Starbucks for the first time and that was not in Norway as Starbucks just recently opened their first store here.
I was of course obsessed with getting PSL during Fall and I got a little disappointed when I tasted it again - it didn't really taste much?
I've had it several times here in Norway and every time it is the same - the milk is too warm and there's almost NO pumpkin spice flavor to it... All you can taste is warm milk with a liiiitle hint of something cinnamony..
I just wonder, is it like that in the US as well? Or UK? Or wherever really? Somebody please tell me because I can't remember it being so flavor less to be honest!

My PSL is a flavor bomb and it is sooo good for those chilly and rainy days!

You can even add some chili paste if you want it hotter and more spicy!

Here's the recipe list and how to:

YOU WILL NEED:

1. Coffee! You can brew your own, you can use espresso, use whatever you like! I went with the easy version of 2x espresso in my Dolce Gusto machine ;)
2. I then use Starbucks Vanilla syrup, Pumpkin Spice & Coffee Mate Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer (you can leave this one out, I just like the taste).
3. Milk! Frothed:) I put some milk in a glass and I blast it in the microwave for a few seconds! I'd rather have it too cold than too warm as I don't like the taste of over heated milk;)
   
   HOW TO:
4. Brew your coffee!
5. Watch it and smell the deliciousness....
6. Now you should have something like this!
7. Add you coffee creamer
8. Add as many teaspoons of vanilla (or pumpkin spice) syrup as you like!
9. Add Pumpkin Spice. I usually go with 1-2-3 teaspoons.. Depends!

Give everything a good stir and then add your milk and the froth at the end!

And last but not least, if you prefer, some whipped cream on top!
Sugar to taste.
Drizzle over some pumpkin spice to make it look nice :)

MAC Rebel Lipstick *Photos & Swatches* + Advertise with me? *Fall Series*

Today I went to see my little brothers soccer game tonight and I had two Pumpkin Spice Lattes..;) 

I promised you Mac Rebel today, and I can tell you I simply love it!  ;)

You know, I love almost everything...

Simply because a) I rarely buy things I don't like and b) I rarely buy things I haven't researched/tested out first.. But mostly because I love everything...

One thing I didn't love (at least not yet after, what is it now, three-four weeks?) is Effaclar Duo...! I had such high hopes.. But that story I would like to share with you in a another post - I'm just debating HOW much I am gonna share with you as it would be a skin focused post you know.

Am I going to share my bare poor acne skin so others like me can take comfort and know that they are not alone in the world? Or am I just going to tell you about my problems and just keep on posting pictures where my skin of course looks flawless...... Hmmm decisions decisions..

Well over to Rebel, as we all can see the lip swatch close-up isn't exactly showing it's true color as it it very bright and pink! But it was a little hard to get good photos of the close up and catch the true color because of my lightning. You will see a more true swatch on the last three photos :)

This is such a nice shade and it is clearly an everyday lipstick! Different from Cyber, this is a lipstick I would easily just throw on without hesitation whether I am just going out to run some errands or have coffee with my friends.

I used Mac Beet lipliner on these swatches, but it is sooo cool using Nightmoth too! I might just put up a swatch of that later - how did I not do that in the first place? I do not know :)

This is a perfect lipstick for Fall and most of my lipstick on the blog these days are too, you know I'm obsessed by Fall and I couldn''t even in my wildest dreams think of wearing a summery lipstick now - haha! My body and mind is just sooo into the whole Fall/Winter time now.. So weird...

To me this is perfect because it is not too dark and it is not too bright, simple as that. It has that dark berry/plum color and you can play around with the layering. Try layering on top of Nightmoth, and you will get a much more bolder look right away! 

And it just occurred to me that I have too many lipsticks and too few days to wear them!

Or no, wait, I have too few lipsticks, but also too few days.. Or.. Whatever! My point is that I CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH LIPSTICKS ;)

MAC Cyber Lipstick Review & Swatches

Woohoo finally!

For some unreasonable reason I've been obsessed with this lipstick the entire Fall season and last week (or the week before that? Time goes by so freaking quickly!) I finally got my hands on it.

Do you want to hear something disgusting?

I haven't worn it once except for makeuplooks/swatching.

Seriously, isn't that a sign of hoarder tendencies?

I mean, buy stuff just for the purpose of buying stuff?

Ok, so I'm not quite there yet, and I've been wanting to wear it a hundred times, I guess it's just the fact that I haven't been doing too well lately and I have mostly spent my time at home :)

Ok, *puh* there's the answer, that's the reason... I'm not gonna show up on "Hoarders" quite yet, maybe if I just get some more cats and stop vacuuming..then maybe...WHAT AM I SAYING - I'm not that bad :)

It's a dark lipstick, and it's not a type of lipstick I would just apply and wear randomly anywhere and anytime.. For me this needs to be, not planned, but, kinda planned. I am so weird, please tell me it's not just me.

Even though I love makeup as much as I do, and I have an unhealthy obsession for lipsticks I still don't always feel confident enough to wear bold lips!

I guess it's just me being self conscious! I mean, I'm not one of those living by any special makeup-rules, I am "more is more, and more is great" - but still I clearly make rules for my self all the time..!?

Oh well, Mac Cyber is a beautiful lipstick and it actually makes me want my dark hair color back so I could look all rocked up...!

It depends on the lightning, and how you've applied it, but you can clearly see it is a beautiful dark purple/plum color :)

I lined my lips with Nightmoth and it is a perfect combo really :)

MAC Rebel, Beet & *finally* CYBER purchase :)

Ok, so you probably know by now I've had a few visits to MAC lately..

I'm just making it up from time to time what I feel is right haha, today it's a mini-mini-haul ;)

Well, I don't know why I feel I have to justify my purchases, but I can tell you why I needed these lovely items :)

First off I just wanted Cyber.

Hello-oo, it's super dark and it's fall.

I don't know if it suits me, but I'm gonna have it anyway.

I've been looking for it for ages, it's always sold out and I've been waiting MONTHS for it to come back in stock. FINALLY it was in and well, obviously I couldn't leave without it.

Or wait, actually I visited the first MAC store and they didn't have it, so because I got sad since they didn't have it I bought Rebel (I've also wanted this for some time) to feel better... Totally normal, right?

And then I decided I wanted an alternative to "Nightmoth" for lining my lips when wearing "Diva".. So that's why I bought the Beet lipliner ;)

I hadn't given up on Cyber yet so I ran over (walked slowly actually, it takes a few minutes) to the other MAC store in town and....to my surprise - they had it!!!!!!!!

I was actually super effective last week and managed to swatch all the liners and lipstick, so if you stick around I'll post either Cyber or Rebel (haven't quite decided yet) just after this post!

FOTD/MOTD MAC Cranberry/Greensmoke/Tempting

Wow, this almost turned into a blog-break! Sorry, that wasn't my intentions at all :)

Saturday was super relaxed and on Sunday I went to my grandpa to celebrate his birthday - he turned 91 and is as healthy as can be :) He´s awesome, I love him :)

On Monday I did some research on possible studies in the future. 

As I don´t exactly know how my near future looks thinking about my work etc. I just HAVE to do some thinking and make some back-up plans in case I can´t continue...:( I can´t be standing left with NO ideas whatsoever if I can´t continue my work (because of my constant problems with head aches +++ caused by my eye problems). It´s not a happy thought, but if I´m gonna be realistic I have to do this.

I´m mainly thinking about studying abroad and preferably in the US. It´s still far away if it´s gonna happen, but I want to have a clear overview of possible Universities and at least, what to study!

And.. WHERE.. I´ve mostly been thinking about California. I don´t know, I´ve just always dreamt about it;) 

Anyway, we couldn´t find any unis that were "perfect" for me on Mondays meeting so I´m gonna go on another meeting later this week or next week.. 

These are all just informal meetings and just to get a overview of my possibilities :)

I diiiiiid however make a visit to MAC................

After seeing lovely Brittany (over at www.lifesetsail.blogspot.ca) wearing the delightful MAC Cranberry I just couldn´t resist.. Even after several new cranberry shades from Inglot!

Oh, well, it doesn´t hurt with some new eyeshadows to play with.

I will however admit that I now have eyeshadows to last for the rest of my life. 

But.... It made me happy!! ;)

I took a friend with me and we went to take my dog to the "hairdresser".. Not because I´m vain concerning my dog, but because he has this type of fur that needs to be well and carefully groomed once every few months :)

He´s so freaking cute now all shorthaired and puppy-looking!

We had lunch and I found some super cheap and handy acrylic boxes perfect for my lipsticks.. OOOOHHH so organized it´s all gonna be!

Cutest thing EVERRRR!!! These arrived in the mail today "anti-slip-dog-socks"... Have you seen anything cuter OMG...! Had to take them off after a short while as he hated them though, haha, poor little thing :) I mainly bought them because they looked so freaking cute :P

* Beauty Necessities Haul *

I had a few necessities on my shopping list the other day.

- Makeup remover.

- Something nice for my hair.

- New foundation.

- Black lash adhesive.

- Something darker for my brows.

I hate it when the foundation is on the list because it's so damn expensive.

However I usually mix with another (less expensive) brand so the foundation really lasts several

months!

 

It was 3 for 2 on the Loreal products so that's why I ended up stocking up on those!

I use makeup remover like crazy so there won't be a problem emptying these..

Kinda regret buying the toner as I think it might cause my skin to break out..(??) But it smells so nice!

I don't buy Loreal skin care for the purpose of treating my skin. Simply to remove makeup as I don't

feel washing my face with foaming face wash/face scrub or something like that is enough to remove

aaall my makeup... I just wanted to try out the toner :)

Aussie surprised me in a positive way last time so I ended up buying this for the second time!

1. L´oréal Sublime Soft Cleansing Water
   
   No perfume, removes makeup well.
   
   
2. L´oréal Revitalift Make-up Removing Milk
   A slight delicate scent to it, removes makeup well.
   
   
3. L´oréal Revitalift Rejuvenating Smoothing Toner
   
   Really nice scent to it, does not absorb quickly to skin, makes skin feel kinda sticky for a while.
   Also a bit oily I think..
   Not sure whether this makes my skin break out or not...
   
   
4. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Luscious Long Deep Treatment Long-Locks Love-Potion
   Looove it!
   I bought this because my other 3 minute miracle Reconstruct is starting to run empty and I decided to get something else than reconstruct as my hair gets enough proteins now.
   This is for long hair and perfect for me as it smoothes and leaves it soooo nice :)
   This also smells like heaven and leaves that nice scent to my hair after washing :)
   
   
5. Dior Sculpt Foundation 030
   
   My all time favorite foundation!
   The color matches my skin perfectly and it is so thick it covers up most of my imperfections :)
   
   
6. Kiss Black Lash Adhesive
   
   I've never tried this brand before and I bought it just because they didn't have my favorite DUO adhesive and I was desperate for some black glue!
   It works pretty well and my lashes have stayed in place ;)
   
   
7. Anastasia Brow Wiz in "Brunette"
   
   I absolutely loooove my Anastasia Brow Wiz in "Caramel", but it's just a little too light for me.
   "Brunette" is perfect and I use "Caramel" to fill in my brows and then "brunette" to line them and make them oh so pretty ;)
   
   
8. Lancome Nailpolish.
   Cute dark red polish on sale ;)
   Very nice with a coat of "Love Letter" on top!
   
   
9. Ciaté Love Letter
   
   I just could't resist this beautiful polish... Seriously, see how sparkly and nice it is?!
   Right now I've done my nails and I have a nice manicure so I won't be coming with some swatches of this before that's gone! :) But you can look forward to it. Or just buy it. Soooo pretty!

Haiiiii guys! 

Wow, October 31st... Happy Halloween everyone :)

This is gonna be such a lame Halloween post so let´s not call it that ;) I love Halloween but I won´t be celebrating this year..:(

All my friends went to Romania, Transylvania to celebrate there - which is so awesome..! I was supposed to go, but I had to let it go as I rather will go to visit my bff in London and hopefully get some Christmas shopping done in November ;)

The rest of my friends are all pregnant, so there´s not much party going on there haha!

I carved a pumpkin, did a fun makeup look and then I went to another friend and had some coffee and girl talk :) That´s ok too, even though I didn´t get to dress up this year...

October 31st also marks the end of my blog challenge, BLOGtober!

It went so well the first two weeks, but then I got sick and didn´t manage to get all my posts up on time...:( I did a post every day and I had plenty of material to share with you on my blog, but there were always a few things here and there that needed some extra energy to fix before publishing, so the posts would end up in the draft folder until I got the energy to publish them all.. So that´s a bit sad (well, not really SAD, but ya knoooow) Beside from that I think I did fairly well and I do actually have a post every day in October, even though some of them got up a few days too late..;) 

There´s only ONE post that I am super non-satisfied with, but I´m not gonna do anything about that ;)

I´m so used to do a post every day now it´s gonna be weird starting on November without a challenge, but I am not going to do a challenge this month as it is very nice to not feel completely lost when you don´t manage to post every day (hahah a challenge will do that to you, or at least me!) 

Over all I really enjoyed the challenge and I feel very pleased as it turned out JUST the way I wanted it to - to get back into blogging, catch up on the community and put some life back into my blog :)

I have quite a few products to show you, swatches, some hauls (yes, more hauls and purchases.. I´m sorry, I´ve been shopping too much lately!) And even a few more makeup looks coming :)

I won´t be changing into Christmas theme yet (I´m not done with Fall<3) but I can feel the Christmas spirit slooooowly coming closer, so I guess there´s not too long until I go all Christmas crazy too.... ;)

BLOGtober 30th - Ben Nye Luxury Powder Haul

I guess there´s not just me that have been wanting to try these powders after that huge hype a while ago?

I always assumed they were pricey, but I came across them online for a very nice price:)

Originally I was opting for the Banana powder, but since it was so cheap I thought it could be smart to try out some other shades as well!
Neutral Set for, well... Neutral setting of foundation ;)
Banana Powder for highlightning

Beige Suede for all over face color

Nutmeg for contour, hence the smaller bottle

Banana slightly disappointed me, it´s my own fault though, I have only used it now after I´ve lost my nice summer tan and the banana powder work a lot better on a tanner skin!

But if I don´t put on too much it work alright ;)

I actually find the neutral set to work better for highlight!

Will check out the other lighter shade (for example cameo)

For me this is perfect for giving some extra color to my face. I use it with a big powder brush and apply to my whole face :)

I love this! Addicted!

So good for setting my foundation and for highlighting:)
